The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region plans to invest a total of around CNY 14 billion in the development of 29 new energy projects this year.

According to the region's Development and Reform Commission, the 29 projects will include 23 wind power projects, which will cost CNY 12 billion in total and are designed to have a total installed capacity of 1.53GW.

The remaining six of the 29 projects are expected to produce 100 megawatts of photovoltaic products per year with a total investment of about CNY 2 billion.

As of April 6th 2011, Ningxia has a total of 4.7 GW of wind power projects under operation or under construction, and the region's solar power capacity has totaled 1.12 GW.

By the end of 2015, Ningxia aims to have a total installed capacity of wind power facilities of around 5 GW.
