It is reported that Sichuan Province based Chinese steelmaker Pangang Group subsidiary Xichang New Steel and Vanadium Co has commissioned its blast furnace No 1.

According to Pangang, the 1,750 cubic meter capacity blast furnace can meet world-class technological requirements for smelting of vanadium titanium magnetite ore with high titanium content.

China Metallurgical Group Corporation subsidiaries Chongqing-based CISDI Group Co. and Sichuan-based China 19th Metallurgical Group Corporation were in charge of construction work for the blast furnace project.
