China Metallurgical News reported that Panzhihua New Steel & Vanadium Co Ltd is now on the production of more than 3,000 tonnes nuclear power steel pipes, indicating that the company has stepped into the stage for batch production.

In order to cope with the global economic recession, the company speeded up to adjust its products mix by enlarging hi-tech contents and high added value.

In May, it got production approvals by National Nuclear Security Administration, becoming one of the small number of nuclear carbon seamless steel pipe enterprises in domestic market.

Nuclear power technology, with strict quality and technical standards, plays a very special role in national development policy. And before, China's nuclear power construction entirely relied on imports.
