It is reported that Petro China Company and Saudi Aramco are mulling the prospect of jointly building an oil refinery in Yunnan province.
According to Saudi Aramco, the two parties are still investigating the feasibility of the refinery. If it gets the green light, the Yunnan project will supplement a gas pipeline between China and Myanmar which began construction in September 2010.
It would also be the second joint project between the two companies announced in a one-week period. Crude oil supply contracts between Petro China and Saudi Aramco are expected to total 10 million tons in 2011.
