PetroChina keeps output steady at Daqing and Changqing at record

China Petroleum Daily reported that PetroChina Co Ltd largest Daqing oilfield produced 40 million tonnes or 800,000 barrels per day of crude oil in 2010.

The newspaper reported that this was the eighth consecutive year China largest oilfield had maintained output above 800,000 barrels per day after pumping more than 1 million barrels per day for 27 consecutive years.

The newspaper is run by PetroChina parent China National Petroleum Corp.

Daqing also produced 2.99 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2010.

Another report by the newspaper said Changqing, PetroChina second largest oil and gas field, churned out a record 35 million tonnes of oil equivalent in 2010, 5 million tonnes more than in 2009. Of the output, crude oil was 18.25 million tonnes and natural gas was 21.1 billion cubic meters.

The Xinhua report said Changqing oil and gas output was expected to rise to 40 million tonnes of oil equivalent in 2011. PetroChina aimed to raised Changqing production to 50 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2015.
