It is reported that Jiangxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Pingxiang Iron and Steel Co commissioned its two continuous casting machines for billet production at its Jiujiang plant.

The construction of the billet casters No 1 and No 2 was carried out by Hubei Province-based Chinese continuous casting machine supplier CCTEC Engineering Co a subsidiary of state run company MCC.

Producing carbon and low alloy steel billet in cross sections of 150 × 150 mm and 170 × 170 mm, the total annual billet output capacity of the two machines is 1.8 million tonnes.
