Qingdao Steel becomes third Chinese company to produce 26 mm wire rod

Chinese steelmaker Qingdao Iron & Steel Group Co has successfully produced wire rod with 26mm diameter following Baosteel Group and Anshan Steel, thus becoming the third company in China capable of producing wire rod of such large diameter.
In trial production, Qingdao Steel produced 60 tonnes of wire rod with 26mm diameter.
The steel maker’s wire rod production facility, which has an annual output capacity of 800,000 tonnes, can now produce wire rod in diameters ranging from 5.5mm to 26mm.
