Dongbei Special Steel has placed an order with SMS Meer for the general overhaul of three peeling machines. With this overhaul SMS Meer is ensuring that the required quality in terms of the surface grade and diameter tolerances can be delivered.

The overhaul of the peeling machines which were delivered in 1988 will take place as part of the relocation of the works to a new industrial area. Three machines of type WDH50, WDH75 and DDH20 are to be dismantled and overhauled by SMS Meer. Production of the necessary components as well as of entire assemblies is currently running at full speed. Assembly in the new industrial area is scheduled for the second half of the year.

Mr Falk Rößeler head of after sales service at the Schumag & Coppe product unit said that "With the modernization of the peeling machines Dongbei Special Steel will be better placed in future to meet its customers' rising demands."
