
China Knowledge reported that Shanghai GM a joint venture between General Motors and SAIC Motor Corp Ltd sold 1.12 million sedans in China last year ranking first in the top ten automaker list released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd ranked second with sales of 1.01 million sedans followed by FAW-VW Automobile Co Ltd with 976,300 units, Dongfeng Nissan Ltd with 665,400 units, Beijing Hyundai Motor Co with 585,600 units, Chery Automobile Co Ltd with 468,800 units, Geely Holding Group Co Ltd with 432,800 units, Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co with 415,400 units, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co Ltd with 404,100 units and FAW Toyota with 399,700 units.
Last year, the combined sales volume of the ten automakers amounted to 6.47 million units accounting for 64% of the total sedan sales in the country.
