China Knowledge reported that Shanghai International Port Group Co China largest port operator cargo throughput reached 42.34 million tonnes in July this year down by 6.56%YoY.

Last month, the company container throughput was 2.84 million twenty-foot equivalent units reflecting a YoY decrease of 1.83%. In 2011, the port operator cargo throughput rose 13.1% YoY to 484 million tonnes while it handled 31.74 million TEUs last year up by 9.2%YoY.

In the first quarter of this year, the company realized CNY 5.98 billion in total revenue up by 16.7% YoY while its net profit for the period fell 27.4% to CNY 922.6 million.
