According to Mr Wang Qinghai General Manager with Shougang Group that Shougang will stick to developing low cost and high efficiency product strategy, striving for making contributions for China high end manufacturing industry. The strategy can be summarized as follows.

1. Pay more attention on developing high end products and improve independent innovation capability including pipe line steel, automotive steel, pressure vessel steel, high strength construction steel, cold heading steel, pinion steel, home appliance plates, shipbuilding plates etc and the output of automotive steel, pipe line steel and shipbuilding steel will respectively get to 1 million tonnes.

2. Rapidly develop high end metal materials, high end equipment manufacture and auto parts. High end metal materials are based on Shougang Shunyi CR Company which has the ability to produce 1mln tons capacity, distributing products to many well-known enterprises and home appliance corporations.

Shougang cooperated with Beijing Fangshang District acquiring the auto brake and suspension system business of American Delphi Corporation which contains 8 factories at home and abroad, 5 development centers, 900 patents and first rate research team.

3. Developing railway steel will be taken as major products. Shougang already has taken lead in developing railway and machine parts in China. Shougang bedplates market share reach 40% and ballastless track steel wire market share get to 98%.
