
Xinhua reported that China new lending in yuan rose to CNY 410.4 billion in August from July CNY 355.9 billion but still a sharp decrease from CNY 1.53 trillion in June.
The August figure brought new yuan denominated loans in the first eight months to CNY 8.15 trillion, CNY 5.04 trillion more than the same period of last year. The broad measure of money supply, M2, which covers cash in circulation and all deposits, rose 28.53%YoY from a year earlier to CNY 57.67 trillion at the end of August.
The narrow measure of money supply, M1 was up by 27.72% to CNY 20.04 trillion.
