China Knowledge quoted Inspection and Quarantine in a statement said Japan based automaker Subaru will recall 7,412 vehicles in China from July 27 due to faulty engine pump, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision.

In a statement, AQSIQ said the to-be-recalled cars consist of Impreza models which were manufactured from May 23 2008 to October 8 2008, Forester models which were manufactured from May 22 2008 to November 13 2008 and Legacy models which were manufactured from June 4 2008 to October 18 2008.

The Japanese automaker said the faulty engine pump in these vehicles may cause the engine to shut down and can't be restarted and adding that all affected vehicles will be fixed for free.
