
Shanxi Province based Chinese steel group Taiyuan Iron and Steel Company has announced that its output of iron ore concentrate in 2011 reached 5.61 million tonnes up 100,000 tonnes as compared to the 2010 figure.
Meanwhile, Taiyuan Steel said that it is targeting an iron ore concentrate output of 5.9 million tonnes this year. In addition, with the commissioning of iron ore mines in Lvliang City in Shanxi Province within the current year, the iron ore fines output from the mines in question this year is expected to total 2 million tonnes.
