
China Knowledge reported that Germany based Volkswagen AG world third largest automaker sold 32,900 imported vehicles in China including 30,737 units in mainland in the first half of this year reflecting increase of 52% YoY.
The growth was much higher than the average growth in China imported car market.
Mr Shen Xiaojie CEO of Volkswagen of import sales division said the company currently has 70 dealers in its imported vehicle network.
Volkswagen saw the imported auto models, such as Tiguan R-Line, Touareg, Scirocco and New Beetle had strong sales in China in the first half of 2011.
