According to China quality watchdog Volvo began recalling 2,337 vehicles in China recently to fix problems that could pose safety risks.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement that the recall affects 280 imported XC60 vehicles and 318 imported S60 autos manufactured between January 20 and January 28 2011 as well as 1,739 imported XC90 vehicles manufactured between January 29 and August 16 2010.

Volvo said some faulty components of the affected cars might cause fuel leaks, and even might develop into a fire in worst-case scenarios. The statement said owners could contact the auto maker at hotline numbers 400-678-1200 or 010-59799616. Manufacturers will repair the faulty components at no charge.
