Volvo to recall 1303 imported S80 3 vehicles

China Knowledge quoted General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said Sweden based automaker Volvo Car Corp which was owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co will recall 1,303 imported S80 3.2 sedans in mainland China because of potential steering problems.

The quality watchdog said in a statement published on its website that the recall will begin on August 15 to check for a potential flaw that may cause a sudden loss of power steering. The vehicles to be recalled were made between March 8 2006 and May 16 2007.

In early June, Volvo began recalling 2,337 vehicles in China to fix problems that could lead to safety risks. The recall involved 280 imported XC60 vehicles and 318 imported S60 autos manufactured between January 20 and January 28 2011 as well as 1,739 imported XC90 vehicles made between January 29 and August 16 2010.

In the first half of this year, Volvo saw its auto sales in China exceed 21,000 units up by 36%YoY.
