Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Company has announced that the coke cutter of coe oven No 5 at one of its JV has officially been commissioned.

Construction work on the coke oven No 5 was completed in November 2010. The coke oven belongs to Wuhan Pingmei WISCO United Coking Chemical Company, a JV established by WISCO and Henna Province based Pingdingshan Coal Company. The JV currently has 11 large coke ovens. After No 5 coke oven is commissioned, the company's coke output capacity will reach 6.90 million tonnes ranking number one in China.
