It is reported that Wuhan Steel newly developed non oriented silicon steel successfully marched into global No.1 compressor manufacturing plant becoming the first batch supplier in China market.

By June 2010, Wugang output capacities have reached 2 million tonnes per year becoming the largest scaled silicon steel production base in global market. At present, one half of the silicon steel in domestic market was produced by Wugang.

In 1979, the steel mill has established No 1 silicon steel plant which was the only silicon steel plant in China at that time and in 2006, No 2 silicon steel started production, with the annual output surpassing 1.4 million tonnes.
