It is reported that Wuyang Iron and Steel Co Ltd officially accepted the order of 78 auto parts from Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group by making a breakthrough in auto steels especially dual phase steels with the 29 dual phase steels produced on July 18 all passing the die stamping trial.

Dual phase steel making was the bottleneck for many steel makers regarding of the difficulty in producing, high requirements of strength and low yield rate which Wugang developed its own way to settle after one year efforts.

Wugang success was nothing short of self-reliant innovation, based on which it ranked top in China auto steel producer. In 2004, it boasted the capacity to produce all steel varieties required for car making and five years later, the output capacity of more than 100 auto sheet varieties was enlarged to 1.63 million tonnes placing it the second in Chinese steel industry after Baosteel.

In 2010, the output volume of galvanized auto sheets in Wugang CR steel mills reached more than 47 million tonnes per year with composite yield rate above 94% gaining steady producing capacity of large-scaled high qualified auto sheets.
