It is reported that Wuyang Steel recently developed 20MnNiMo quenched & tempered ultra heavy plates has passed the test of China National Erzhong Group Co Ltd on July 20th after which Wuyang Steel’s products will be applied into the development of key equipment-the largest die forging press in the world for China’s large size aircraft project.

Wuyang won the order of 80 pieces of the plates.

As per report, only the steelmaker can produce the plates in China, whose imported price posts highly at some CNY 80,000 per tonne.

China commenced the self development of the large size aircraft since May 2008 and plans to pour in CNY 200 billion into the project.

The necessary equipment die forging press only can be made in US, Russia, France and some others. Then, China National Erzhong Group Co Ltd was picked to design and exploit the world largest 80,000 tonne die forging press with the expected investment of CNY 1.52 billion and then the group appointed Wuyang Steel to produce the 390mm 20MnNiMo quenched & tempered plates for the exploitation.
