Hunan Province based Chinese steelmaker Xiangtan Iron and Steel Company total output of marine grade steel plate exceeded 2 million tonnes in 2011, worth CNY 12 billion in value.

Xiangtan Steel commissioned its 5 meter wide steel plate production line in October 2010. As a result, its annual production capacity of wide and heavy steel plate increased to 5 million tonnes.
