Chinadaily reported that the city of Zhanjiang, Guangdong province is trying to attract more businesses especially those based in Shanghai.

Officials from the Zhanjiang government and Shanghai Baosteel Group stated their goals at a news conference on Thursday.

Mr Wang Zhongbing Zhanjiang Mayor said "Our city has been connected to Shanghai through a series of steel projects in Zhanjiang."

He said the city is looking forward to more opportunities to work with investors from other cities and even overseas.

One such project is the CNY 69.6 billion Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co project which is currently under way.
