In line with its philosophy of improving the quality of life of the communities living in and around its area of its operations, TATA Power, India's largest integrated private power utility, has been conducting various Health Care initiatives.
As part of these efforts, TATA Power's Haldia Power Plant set up a free eye check-up camp at its Haldia site. The camp was organized in association with the Haldia based 'Netra Niramay Niketan-Vivekananda Mission Asram'.
The Haldia Power Plant employees as well as contractors and workmen volunteered to make the free eye check-up camp a major success. 120 villagers received screening and medical aid at check-up camp out of which 38 villagers were provided free spectacles and 28 people were recommended for a free eye operation at "Netra Niramay Niketan".
Speaking on this initiative, Mr Vijayant Ranjan station head of Haldia Power Plant said that "We firmly believe that improving the quality of life of our communities is our responsibility. Our eyes are an important organ and it is imperative that eye problems are detected at early stages whereby immediate treatment is made available. The objective of this program is to provide a better healthcare facility to the community around our business operations. It’s our endeavor to improve the quality of life of our communities through such health camps."
