As a part of its flagship program on energy conservation, TATA Power, India’s largest integrated private utility, organized Club Enerji camp at Shri Siddheshwar High School, Kanabargi, Belgaum. The Company has always been at the forefront of propagating energy conservation and efficiency by regularly organizing such programs to sensitize students about energy and conservation.
The camp was attended by more than 150 students across Belgaum, where they gained knowledge on effective ways of energy conservation. In addition to this, a quiz contest was organized to encourage participation in the camp. The winner of the contest was awarded exciting prizes.
Speaking about this initiative, Mr Balraja Bhatt head of Belgaum Station said that “We at TATA are committed to giving back to the society. Club Enerji has played a vital role in motivating young minds, who are the core influencers in advocating energy and resource conservation. Initiatives like these will help students, their families and society at large to gain knowledge and implement these practices in the area of energy conservation in their daily lives.”
TATA Power Club Enerji has covered 400 schools and sensitized more than 2.8 million citizens across the nation and over 3 million units of electricity have been saved till date. The Club is proud to have more than 19095 Energy Champions and 32257 Energy Ambassadors this year who are spreading the mantra of energy conservation among people across various age and income groups. Today, there are 850 mini TATA Power Energy Clubs across Mumbai, which are run by the school children with the aim to stop wastage of electricity.
