SteelGuru as official media partner is proud to announce the 4th Summit on” Sustainable Mining to Green Steel Making” organized by Indian Chmaber of Commerce on February 21 2011 at New Delhi.
India’s rapid economic growth is being built on a frame of steel and the industry will continue to play a very vital role in the overall growth of the country. The steel sector is regarded as the pillar of the economy of any country as it accounts for a huge contribution in the GDP growth.
The Mining & Steel sector is coming back to its good old shape after the major setback over the past few years post-recession.
Steel demand is taking an upward turn once again after the gradual rise in market demand from the major sectors dependent on steel like real estate, infrastructure, automobiles etc.
Assessments of investment in steel project in the pipeline show the expected steel production will be nearly 124 million tonnes by 2011-12 and 300 million tonnes by 2020.
Both Government and private players are trying their best to make the matter conducive. At the same time there is also a huge pressure on the industry complying to the environmental aspect for a sustainable mining procedure. Steel production is important and necessary but definitely not at the cost of the environment. The right approach is necessary toward green steel making to maintain the equilibrium.
Against this backdrop, Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with the Ministry of Steel, Government of India is organizing the 4th Summit on” Sustainable Mining to Green Steel Making” on 21 February 2011 at New Delhi.
