
It is reported that 3 persons were killed and nine others injured in an explosion at a steel factory in Nagpur.
Police said the explosion occurred at J D Ispat factory at Kapsi village here due to some technical problems in the furnace.
The explosion, which took place in the induction furnace, was so powerful that it ripped apart a concrete wall that was a foot wide. More than 30 laborers were working near the furnace inside the unit, located at Kapsi village, when the blast took place.
One of the labourers who died is learnt to have fallen into the furnace while another was knocked close to it. Another died after a portion of the furnace collapsed on him.
Forensic experts and senior police officials have rushed to the scene for investigations. Further details were awaited.
