Country's largest private ship builder ABG Shipyard posted a 4.30% jump in its net profit at INR 40.06 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. The company's net profit for the April to June quarter last year was INR 38.41 crore.

The company's total income during the quarter surged to INR 522.60 crore from INR 449.45 crore an year ago, showing an increase of 16.27%.

The company said that it delivered four vessels in the reporting period this year while as on June 20th 2011, its total order book stood at approximately INR 14,500 crore.
