Cargotec has received an order worth around EUR 25 million for the supply of 96 MacGREGOR cargo-handling cranes destined for 24 bulk carriers on order at ABG Shipyard Ltd in India for Asian and European owners. The delivery of the cranes is planned to start at the end of this year and continue until mid-2013. Orders will be booked to the second quarter 2009 order intake.
MacGREGOR's supply for each vessel includes four GLB3026-2 cranes with a SWL of 30 tonnes. The cranes will be fitted with MacGREGOR's new control system CC3000, which ensures smooth, fast and stepless crane control. The cranes will be manufactured in MacGREGOR's partner plants.
Mr Paul Söderstedt sales manager for MacGREGOR cranes said “This is a significant order for MacGREGOR. We were able to offer the shipyard an effective crane design that met the vessels cargo handling needs. This, along with the consistent support from our local offices in India and Singapore during the negotiation phase, made us successful.”
Mr Söderstedt said that “MacGREGOR is very experienced in this field and is seen a reliable partner, which also played an important role in securing the order.”
