AREVA T&D India Ltd a leader in the Indian Power Transmission and Distribution sector announced its financial results for the half year ended June 30th 2009.

As per release sales have continued to grow at a healthy pace of 45% while operating profit has increased by 4% to INR 1,964 million as compared to INR 1,892 million in the corresponding period last year.

During the first half of 2009, AREVA T&D India had major successes in several markets such as Utilities and Industry. The Company maintained its leadership in the Extra High Voltage segment by winning 4 major orders from Power Grid Corporation for delivery of 765 kV Substations.

Mr Rathin Basu president & MD of AREVA T&D India said that “So far in 2009, we have successfully commissioned eight new factories on time, and they have already started commercial production. We have won a large Static Power Supply project from Aditya Aluminium, in the Industry segment. We are leveraging our local capacities and expertise with success in the Extra High Voltage domain, to further strengthen our leading position in the market.”
