Global Research Centre for Ferrous Process Metallurgy (A registered trust in Maharastra) is organizing a Two Day Workshop ((Interactive Teaching/Learning) on Theory and Practice of Steelmaking in Induction Furnaces at NAGPUR, (Maharashtra) On 12-13 October, 2012

The Two Day workshop will be conducted mainly by Prof Dr RH Tupkary.

Dr Tupkary is one of the famous authority on iron and steelmaking in India. He has developed a revolutionary process for the separation and recovery of iron from molten SMS slag to dispense with the magnetic separation that is currently and universally adopted in steel plants.

Nature of Workshop:
The workshop will be conducted in the form of a study circle, without much of pomp and show and formalities. It will include understanding of the varieties of practices adopted for making steel by IF route. Attempts will be specifically made to make the participants understand the basic fundamentals of steelmaking with emphasis on Induction Furnace steelmaking. It is bound to open up the wide spectrum of practices that are possible even in IF process of steelmaking. It is expected that such training will enable them to operate their processes at the optimum and with high efficiencies.

Many things will be discussed in the workshop and lest they forget it afterwards, plenty of reading material will be supplied to the participants free of cost.

Extents of Workshop
The workshop will be carried over nearly six sessions covering a large number of aspects of steelmaking by the IF route with active interaction with the participants. Every attempt will be made to discuss the subject at the level of understanding of the participants so that they understand it better.
