BL reported that Alstom India, a subsidiary of French firm Alstom, is in talks with state run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and Nuclear Power Corporation of India to join in as a third partner in their proposed joint venture.
Mr Sunand Sharma president of Alstom on the sidelines of the India Economic Summit told PTI that “We are in discussion with both the companies BHEL and NPCIL.”
He however declined to comment whether Alstom would be an equal partner in the joint venture.
Public sector majors BHEL and NPCIL signed an agreement in April 2008 to form a joint venture for providing engineering, procurement and construction services in the nuclear power sector.
