Areva TD bags contract worth INR 400 million

It is reported that Areva T&D India's transmission business, now part of Alstom Grid has been awarded a contract with Reliance Power for turnkey design and construction of a 220 kV substation.

The contract worth approximately INR 400 million is for the proposed 350 MW Doorsar Solar Plant in the state of Rajasthan.

The turnkey contract involves design and construction of the substation including transformers, control, protection, monitoring systems and civil works of the plant.

Mr Rathin Basu MD of Areva T&D India said that "Areva T&D India is proud to partner with Reliance Power in this prestigious project to offer its substation for India's largest solar power plant. With strong focus from Government of India for the renewable segment, including solar, Areva T&D India is well poised to offer its transmission technology and solutions for fast emerging sector."
