
French power equipment maker Alstom Grid's arm Areva T&D said that it had bagged INR 220 crore order from Sterlite Technologies for the construction of substations in Bhopal and Dhule in Maharashtra.
The company in a statement said that "Areva T&D has bagged a contract worth INR 220 crore from Bhopal Dhule Transmission Co, a subsidiary of Sterlite Technologies, for the construction of two 765 kV Extra High Voltage substations in Bhopal and Dhule in Maharashtra.”
All the equipment for these substations will be delivered from Areva T&D India's factories located at Padappai, Pallavaram, Hosur in Tamil Nadu, and Noida (Uttar Pradesh).
Mr Pravin Agarwal Sterlite Technologies wholetime director said that "Areva T&D India is awarded this project for its expertise and technology edge in delivering products and solutions for 765kV EHV. They have a strong track record of successes in this domain and we are confident of their delivery on this project.”
Mr Rathin Basu MD of Areva T&D India said that "We deeply value our relationship with Sterlite in the emerging BOOT [Build, Own, Operate and Transfer] business.”
