BGR Energy has emerged as lowest bidder for NTPC's 800 MW tender. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Mr BG Raghupathy CMD of BGR Energy Systems confirmed the same. He sees 15% turnover growth this year over the last year.

He further said that this order is very important for the company because the client is NTPC. He added that “We are targeting 10% margin on this order.”

Q - Can you confirm this news that you emerged as the lowest bidder for NTPC’s 800 MW tender?

A - Yes, we are the lowest bidder for the 9x800 MW turbine generator tender of NTPC.

Q - Can you give us some sense of what the difference was between you and L&T who is probably the second lowest bidder? Do you have any such details?

A - L&T is the second lowest bidder. Our price was INR 7,298 crore and L&T’s value added price is INR 7,471 crore.

Q - What happens now, now that you are L1 and L&T is L2? What follows from here in terms of the award of the orders?
