It is reported that Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has bagged an order worth INR 1475 crore for a 600 MW thermal power plant in Chattisgarh. BHEL will supply the main plant package for the Greenfield power project.

BHEL statement said that "The order for the Greenfield power project, located in Raigarh district, has been placed on BHEL by Korba West Power Company Limited reflecting the customer’s confidence in the company’s technological excellence and capability in executing projects of this magnitude.”

According to the contract, BHEL’s services will include design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbine, generator, boiler along with associated auxiliaries and state-of-the-art controls & instrumentation for the 600 MW thermal power plant.
