
BHEL announced that it has bagged INR 6,300 crore orders for setting up an energy efficient power plant in Karnataka.
A company statement issued on Monday said that “BHEL has won a INR 6,300 crore contract for executing a 1,600 MW supercritical thermal power project in Karnataka for Raichur Power Corporation Ltd.”
The contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of two coal-fired thermal units of 800 MW each with supercritical parameters (energy efficient and environment friendly) at Raichur in Karnataka.
RPCL is a joint venture company of Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd and BHEL, which has been set up to build, own and operate supercritical thermal power plants in Karnataka.
The statement added that BHEL is also executing a contract for the supply of supercritical steam generators to APGenco’s 2x800-MW Krishnapatnam Thermal Power Project, which is at an advanced stage of completion.
