Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has secured yet another prestigious contract from an Independent Power Producer for setting up a 1,320 MW thermal power plant (2x660 MW) in Madhya Pradesh.

Valued at Rs.37,829 Million, the order has been secured under International Competitive Bidding from DB Power (Madhya Pradesh) Limited, a Dainik Bhaskar Group company, for supply and installation of the main plant package for their upcoming coal based supercritical thermal power project, located in Gorgi village, Tehsil Deosar, in Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh.

Significantly, this is the second order from the Dainik Bhaskar Power Limited group and with this the customer has once again reposed confidence in BHEL’s proven technological excellence. For DBPL, BHEL is presently executing another contract for a 2x600 MW BTG package along with associated auxiliaries for a 1,200 MW coal based thermal power project in Chattisgarh state.

With this contract, BHEL has now won orders for supply and installation of 16 nos. each of Supercritical Steam Generators, Turbines and Generators, of 660 MW, 700 MW and 800 MW ratings.

Major contracts involving supply of supercritical sets presently under execution by BHEL include 2x660 MW Barh Thermal Power Project Stage-II of NTPC; 3x660 MW Bara Thermal Power Project of Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited, a part of the Jaypee Group; 2x800 MW Yeramarus and 1x800 MW Edlapur Thermal Power Projects of Raichur Power Corporation Limited; 1x700 MW Bellary Thermal Power Project (Unit 3) of KPCL and 3x660 MW Lalitpur Thermal Power Project from Bajaj Group. In addition, BHEL is also executing a contract for supply of supercritical Steam Generators to APGenco’s 2x800 MW Krishnapatnam Thermal Power Project, which is in an advanced stage of completion.
