Birla Corporation said that the company has suspended limestone mining in Rajasthan following a court order.

The company in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange said that "High Court of Judicature for Rajasthan at Jodhpur has directed that no mining should take place in the mining leases within the area of 10 kilometers from the Chittorgarh fort.”

He added that in view of this order, mining of limestone has been kept under suspension.

The company said that "The company is taking necessary legal measures for revocation of the above stay order of the high court.”

Birla Corporation said the limestone stock available with the Chanderia cement plant was sufficient to maintain production for 6 to 7 days.
