BS reported that lack of demand has forced ACC to hold back the INR 600 crore expansion program planned for its ready mix concrete business, ACC Concrete.

Mr Hans Fuchs CEO of ACC Concrete said that "ACC Concrete had planned to invest INR 600 crore to add 200 plants across the country by 2012. We will increase the number of our plants to 40 this month, from the current 32 and will stop expanding after this."

However, ACC is going ahead with its planned expansion program of increasing capacity to 30 million tonne by 2010, from 23.5 million tonne with the addition of 3 plants.
