
Surya Roshni, the largest exporter of GI Pipes, and Flagship Company of the Surya Group, has pumped in fresh capital of INR 550 crore to achieve a turnover of INR 5,000 crore by the next three years.
Mr Sunil Gupta head corporation communication of the company told reporters that “We have already invested INR 550 crore to install three more plants at Bhuj in Gujarat, Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and Kashipur in Uttrakhand to increase the production capacity of GI Pipes and it has been planned to increase the current turnover of INR 2000 crore of the group to INR 5000 crore by next three years.”
Apart from INR 550 crore, it has been planned to invest about INR 300 crore to commission another plant in Vijay Nagar of Karnataka to manufacture H R Coil in the coming fiscal, Gupta said adding that it has also decided to increase the production capacity of CFL from 2.5 million pieces per annum to 5 million pieces.
Regarding the market share of the company, Gupta revealed that in case of lighting products, the company owned 26% of the total market in the country and in the G I pipes, the group had a share of 20 per cent in the indigenous market.
He announced the launch of Group’s Program to educate millions of consumers across 250 cities in India on the hazards of using spurious pipes. The program aims to educate dealers and 20,000 retailers and consumers on the ill effects and hazards of using spurious steel pipes. The program also covers highlighting benefits of using good quality GI and ERW pipes.
