The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure has approved the project of four laning of Vijayawada to Machlipatnam section of NH 9 in Andhra Pradesh under NHDP Phase IV-A on DBFOT basis in BOT (Toll) mode of delivery.

The total estimated cost of the project is INR 736 crore out of which INR 130 crore will be for land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and pre construction. The total length of the project is 64.611 kilometers. The concession period is 20 years including construction period of 24 months.

The project will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Vijayawada and Machlipatnam. It will also increase the employment potential for the local laborers for the project activities.

The project will be in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh.
