CLP India said its 660MW power plant at Jhajjar in Haryana was ready for commercial production. The first unit of the 1,300 MW project was synchronised with grid.
The company said that ninety percent of the plant's output was reserved for Haryana. CLP India won the contract to set up Jhajjar project through international competitive bidding in July 2008.
The company in a statement said that "The foundation stone of India's largest supercritical coal fired project was laid by the Haryana and CLP India on January 10th 2009 and the first unit has been synchronised exactly 36 months later.”
Mr Rajiv Mishra MD of CLP India said to minimize environmental impact of operations, the company installed flue gas desulphurisation at Jhajjar despite a significant additional financial implication. The second unit of the project was nearing completion and likely to be synchronised in three months.
