
BL reported that CLP India officially opened its 99 MW Theni Wind Farm culminating its wind power portfolio in India to stand at 446 MW.
CLP India has entered into an agreement with Vestas Wind Technology India Pvt Ltd to develop this project. The wind farm will be fully commissioned by the end of June.
It uses 60 Vestas V82 geared wind turbines each with a capacity of 1.65 MW IEC Class IIB machine with a blade diameter of 82 m. The WTG is installed on a steel tower at a 78 meter hub height. CLP India proposes to sell the plant s entire power generation output to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board under the terms of a 20 year Power Purchase Agreement.
Mr Rajiv Mishra MDof CLP India said that "In line with our global strategy, we intend to add 200 MW of wind power in India annually." CLP India is the largest foreign investor in the wind power sector with a combined capacity of 446 MW. CLP India has around 182 MW projects under operation and 264 MW projects under various stages of implementation in Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, all of which will be commissioned by next year.
