Cap likely on merchant power price from CIL fed plants
NDTV reported that the Indian government plans to cap tariffs for power companies whose projects receive assured coal supplies from Coal India Limited.
The government feels that power companies with free fuel supply from captive mines merchant players are profiteering at the expense of the consumers.
Power projects with captive coal bocks are likely to vehemently oppose the new policy.
