Capacity of Kochi LNG Terminal to be expanded to 5 million tonne

Mr S Jaipal Reddy minister of petroleum & natural gas informed the Lok Sabha that Petronet LNG Ltd a Joint Venture Company, is setting up a LNG Terminal at Kochi. The Board of Petronet LNG Ltd. has approved expansion of its capacity from 2.5 million tonne per annum to 5 million tonne per annum.
The project is expected to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2012-13.
