PTI reported that Chandrapur district administration has issued show cause notices to as many as 129 coal depots operating in the vicinity of the city asking them to fall in line within seven days over alleged violation of norms.

District Collector Mr Vijay Waghmare served the notice on October 31st 2011.

According to sources, a meeting was held on July 29 to apprise the owners of coal depots about rules and regulations adhered to. The coal depot owners were directed to produce all the records pertaining to ownership of their respective business premises, license and other documents to the district administration but only few of them followed the directives.
