
State run inland transport services provider Container Corporation of India tied up with Krishnapatnam Port company for developing rail infrastructure at the port terminal, which is slated to start operations in a month's time. However, both the companies did not divulge the financial details of the agreement, which is likely to be finalised in a month's time.
Mr Anil Kumar CEO of Krishnapatnam Port told reporters that "Krishnapatnam Port and Concor will jointly develop the required rail infrastructure to cater to the growing container movement after the container terminal at Krishnapatnam Port goes operational in a month.”
The port will provide adequate facilities and infrastructure for storage and operation of railway rakes and containers at its premises.
The companies may also develop container freight station at the port and inland container depots.
Mr Anil Gupta MD of Concor said that "Over a period of six months, we will see whether there is need for CFS. Though we have identified the land, but when will we build the terminal, we will decide.”
