BL reported that Delhi Metro on Friday rolled out its new fleet of broad gauge trains, which are more faster and swankier than the present ones.
The trains procured from German based Bombardier were inducted into service by Mr E Sreedharan chief of DMRC at the Central Secretariat station. The new trains promise to make the journey more comfortable for the commuters.
The first train will run on the Central Secretariat to Jehangirpuri underground line. After inducting the train into service, Mr Sreedharan also took a ride on the train. The acquisition of the train is part of INR 2,984 crore deals with Bombardier under which DMRC will procure 83 broad gauge trains by 2011.
