Project today reported that Dalmia Cement Ltd has started commercial operation at its 2.25 million tonne per annum Greenfield cement project at Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.

With the commissioning of this plant, the company's cement production capacity will scale up to 5.75 million tonne per annum including the output from its two other plants in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

In July 2008, the company announced its major expansion plans through a subsidiary, Dalmia Cements Ventures Ltd, which is to invest more than INR 4,000 crore over the next 3 years to add 10 million tonne production capacity.
